It lasted but a short time, but we had such a warm spell during early January that daffodils burst through the ground all over the place. In a few days, though, snow had covered their tender stems. Later, both warmth and subsequent frigid snow saw their beautiful yellow heads bent over in those cold, icy days. Now the snow has melted and these glorious flowers are at their finest.
