Things I've Been Seeing

The Red, White, and Blue of Christmas (Day 344/365)

In many ways, Christmas and Independence Day are similar holidays except that Christmas overarches the July holiday, for without the Star of Christmas there would be no Independence. None. Of no kind. For, in anticipation of the cross, wherein would come the world’s greatest emancipation, God arrayed Himself in human flesh. In the blackness of that faraway beautiful night in Bethlehem, Jesus was born to his mother, Mary. Joseph also tended Him, and on that first Christmas night, this rare Baby was swaddled and laid to sleep in a straw-filled manger.

Fireworks flared. A star appeared in the inky sky. Angels gathered and spoke to shepherds who huddled in fear because of the strange activities of the night. Magi took gifts.

True freedom had come.
