Things I've Been Seeing

Icicle Drops

When I was a child in Springfield, MO., we broke icicles off the low roof of our house and ate them. Probably all kinds of germy little things in those crystal daggers, but we didn’t know it, our mom thought it was okay, and we were healthy as nanny goats.  Now, Jerry and I grow icicles off the edge of our roof here in Crestline–pretty ones, long, and clear as diamonds. I don’t eat them: I take pictures of them. (Well, to tell the truth, occasionally I take a lick or two!)
